This is the time of year when mosquitoes become a concern.  These air-born pests are more than just a nuisance as they carry and spread multiple illnesses such as Zika Virus, West Nile Virus, Chikungunya and Dengue Fever among others.  At King Nursery have products that can help to prevent and deal with these pests just in time for your summer outdoor activities.

You’ve heard the saying “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure”?  Well, we have a great product that can help to prevent mosquitoes and those annoying fungus gnats.  Summit Mosquito Bits or Mosquito Dunks are wonderful products that work by killing the larvae that grow in standing water.  These products can be used in ponds, bird baths, and stock tanks as they are safe for use around children and pets when used as directed.

Natural Guard Insect Repellent Granules create a scent barrier that is pleasant to humans but works as a repellent for numerous insects including mosquitoes, flies, and ants.  This product is easy to use granular which is simply applied using a spreader and does not need to be watered in.  It is safe around children and pets ad not detrimental to beneficial insects such as bees and ladybugs when used as directed.

We also have two other products which kill and repel mosquitoes, flies, ants and even ticks.  Both products use a non-toxic, synthetic form of the natural extract from the chrysanthemum.  Bonide Mosquito Beater has a low percentage of the active ingredient and is a liquid which comes in a bottle complete with a hose-end sprayer.  Hi-Yield 38 Plus has a higher percentage of the ingredient and comes as a liquid concentrate which can be more cost effective especially if you are treating a larger area.  This particular product can also be used to treat/prevent termites.  These products are also safe for children and pets when used as directed.

Come on in and see us at King Nursery!  We will be happy to help you choose the product that best suits your needs so you can enjoy your summer fun instead of swatting any unwanted guests.
